This 12 year old girl has a lot to handle in this town of Maryland. She has time on her hands to think about everything that’s happened to her. She figures a lot of things out about what’s happened and she finds out something that could change her relationship with her mother. Ten- year-old India Opal Buloni moves with her father to Naomi, Florida. She didn’t really expect to adopt a dog in a grocery store. She names the dog Winn- Dixie so the police officers would not take her to the pound. She names the dog after the store she is in when she meets Winn-Dixie. Before long they realize that Winn-Dixie made her and her Dad’s life a lot more peaceful, and they have a lot more to be thankful for. She really doesn’t know what she is going to do with the dog, because her dad wants to get rid of it. Winn-Dixie is causing a lot of trouble. I recommend this book for everyone who really likes page-turners. Emily 6th Period

The orphans, Violet, the oldest, Klaus, the middle child, and Sunny, the baby of the family, are at a dismal, pitch-black street called 667 Dark Ave. This beautiful, once uncovered penthouse where their guardians, Mr. and Mrs. Squalor live is more than they ever expected. As you may know they are trying to hide from Count Olaf, the kid’s first guardians who, ever since the kids were taken away from him, has been trying to steal the kid’s fortune away, and in the process killing the kids’ other guardians. Little did the kids know that Mrs. Squalor was not on their side. In the process of trying to get away they find some long lost friends at the bottom of a mysteriously deep elevator shaft.
