     The big unfriendly ones eat people. The nice one catches bad dreams for people and gives them good dreams. This story takes place in England, the desert, and the cites. A 10 year old girl named Sofia sees them in the city at night. But no one is supposed to see them. The nice one has to take her away to his house. The girl is only 10 years old.           Alex Rider has just been shot and almost killed.  The 14 year old is no ordinary kid though.  He has worked with M-16, an English spy group, forabout a year.   He’s in the hospital when he encounters four men that are trying to kidnap another kid.  Alex gets them to follow him, and he knocks them out and is about to call the police when he is kidnapped instead of the kid their trying to kidnap.  He is almost burned up but escapes.  The kid, as he later finds out, is the son of a multi-billionaire who is mixed up in Force-Three, an eco- terrorist group.  To find out the outcome read Ark Angel. By: Joseph 7^th period

The Breadwinner by: Deborah Ellis 7th period

Life is hard on 11 year old Parvana in Afghanistan during the Taliban Rule. Parvana is forced to dress as a boy to buy food for her family after her father is arrested by the Taliban. While she is working, Parvana meets one of her school mates who is also dressed as boy. They go on many adventures while trying to feed their families. Once while trying to feed their families, they worked in a grave yard digging up bones because it paid more. Cassie Knight is pretty, popular, smart, stylish, and perky.  When she learns she has to move because of her dad’s job, everything starts to fall apart.  She’s sad because she has to move away from her best friend, Erin Donaldson, and from warm and sunny Texas to snowy and cold Maine.  All she wants to do is make some friends at her new school, Oak Grove.  Everyone at her new school, unlike her, is prim and proper.  She tries to be fashionable and to be noticed, but they don’t find her at all fabulous!  Someone does though, her name is Etoile.  Eventually they become friends.  Will Etoile be Cassie’s only friend at her new school? So she sneaks into Massie’s bedroom while she’s gone walking Bean (her dog) and IMs Alicia, Dylan, and Kristen. She tricks them into thinking that Massie likes Claire and tells them Massie’s secrets. Now Claire’s in and Massie’s out. Everything’s all mixed up! Will things go back to normal? Or will Claire and the clique desert Massie forever? I recommend this book for girls 6th grade and older.
