The Day No Pigs Would Die by Robert Newtown Peck

Rob, an 11 or 12 year old boy, has a blue ribbon wining pig, named Pinkie. After Rob helps Mr. Tanner, or his neighbor, have cow named Apron give birth to its calf, Mr. Tanner gives Rob a piglet from the litter of his new born pigs. Rob was so very existed about having his own pig. But there problem was Rodgers dad was a pig killer for a living in their home town on their farm in Learning. Pinkie grew up to be a fine sow. Then one day Rob’s dad had bad news, he was not sure but he thought that Pinkie might be unable to have piglets. So…will Pinkie have piglets, or will she be served up as bacon with sunny side up eggs on the side, with a glass of pulp free orange juice? Read this book if you like pigs, and to see what happens!! -Haley 4th period
